The breakfast that actually keeps you going until lunch: warm oats stirred with peanut butter and topped with sliced banana and a spoon of flax. Proper fuel for a busy morning or a session in the gym.
Ingredients
- 80g rolled oats
- 1 banana, sliced
- 2 tbsp peanut butter
- 1 tbsp flaxseed
- 300ml milk of your choice, a pinch of cinnamon
Method
- Simmer the oats with the milk and cinnamon for 4–5 minutes, stirring, until creamy.
- Stir in the peanut butter until it melts through.
- Top with the sliced banana and flaxseed, and serve warm.
Why it works
This is a slow-energy bowl by design. Oats are rich in beta-glucan, a soluble fibre that releases its carbohydrate gradually, while the banana tops up readily-available carbohydrate and potassium for working muscles. The peanut butter adds protein and healthy fat that steady the whole thing, making it genuine energy-and-performance fuel.
