Dietary factors and risk of gout and hyperuricemia: a meta-analysis and systematic review

Asia Pacific Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 2018 · Meta-analysis of observational studies

In 19 observational studies, red meat, seafood, alcohol and fructose were associated with higher risk of gout and high uric acid, and dairy and soya with lower risk. Coffee was linked to lower gout risk but possibly higher uric acid in women, and high-purine vegetables were not linked to higher risk of either.
